rhyme of the day

id like to tell you a story about a time in my life
one day at school i was surrounded by a bunch of black guys
who heard from some white girls that my rhymes were pretty legit
they challenged me to a face off so i started to spit
i layed out a 16 bar verse off the top of my head
should of seen their faces almost looked like they were dead
so their turn came next and one guy stepped out
he looked like he had something to say but nothing came out of his mouth
so his friend stepped in to try and cover that up
he spit a couple verses and thought he ate me for lunch
he started talking about things like my white skin
and how in the indusrty of rap il just never fit in
well im not tryin to fit in just tryna do my own thing
thats why i choose not to rap about money and bling
cause in my mind your only smart as the words that you say
and if you say dumb things how you expect to the pass tenth grade?
well i dont expect you to anyways look at you now
your 19 still in highschool and live in your friends house
but i dont want to diss you even though u dissed me
cause i see you gettin sweaty already and its not this heat
now after this you shoulda seen the look on their faces
cause i just served a whole crew and alone put them in their places
this just goes to show you the way the world is
this all happened at school whats happened to kids
i thought that issues of race went away a long time ago
but it continues to pull people down like a bunch of falling dominoes
cant people see that we live in a society
the other day my ipod was jacked right out from under me
i couldnt understand why anyone would do somethin of that sort
why would anyone feel that theyd have to resort
to stealing someonesles things it just makes me so mad
if i find out who did it they would have wished they never had
but i cant think like that thats not what i believe
i have to forgive and forget
cause thats what jesus taught me
and maybe someday some good karma will come
and il look back and thank God for what he had done.
